Johannesburg Tibetan Buddhist Meditation Centre for World Peace and Health

Welcome to Kagyu Samye Dzong Randburg, our new South African meditation centre in Johannesburg established for World Peace and Health.

As we  struggle to come to terms with the loss of such a great light in our lives, we have been given very clear instructions by Lama Yeshe Rinpoche on prayers to do for our beloved Akong Tulku Rinpoche. We are also regularly sent updates from Samye Ling. Please see the links below:

Updates on prayers and any further news, please follow our Face Book page here.

Kagyu Samye Dzong Randburg is a place of peace, meditation, a place of tranquility and refuge from the busyness of our daily lives.  It is open to Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike, whether you would like to learn more about Buddhism, meditation, mindfulness or simply to de-stress.  Please feel welcome to visit our centre during our opening hours, feel free to visit our shop, relax in the garden or visit the shrine room.

We are located in Johannesburg north, at the brink of Randburg and Bryanston therefore we are central to all surrounding areas of Sandton, Fourways, Rosebank, Northcliff and most other northern suburbs of Johannesburg.

Please navigate through our site to find information about weekly events, courses, opening times, meditation and more. Please be sure to visit our Programme>Events section for news on the exciting happening at our Centre.

(Using this site: Each main menu item at the top has an alternating left sub menu with more info eg. By clicking 'Meditation' on the main menu you will then see a new left sub menu called meditation with - why meditate, how to meditate etc..)
